Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility
USGBC LEED International Certification System

image LEED is a third party certification program to encourage the construction of high performance buildings. LEED gives owners, designers, and builders the tools required to design, plan and construct high performance buildings. LEED promotes human and environmental health by stressing a whole building approach based on five key criteria's.

  • Sustainable Site Development
  • Water Savings
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Materials Selection
  • Indoor Environmental Quality

Points are awarded across the five categories to determine the ratings for the performance of the building. Depending on the total amount of points awarded the buildings rating level is certified. With materials selection being one of the major categories it is important to select materials that focus on  environmental priorities. Many manufacturers of prefabricated building components now publish and supply information on their products benefits, attributes, and performance to determine their relativity to applying for LEED points.

Florida Modular Office & Partition Systems goals are to design and build the best environmental and health orientated buildings as possible. Low VOC materials and finishes, higher than average insulation values, and more efficient systems, can often be included in the design with minimum impact on the construction budget. Budgetary savings through the use of prefabricated and prefinished components can be allocated to more efficient systems and controls.
